Chiropractic is the third largest primary health care profession world wide. Chiropractic focuses on the consultation, examination, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuormusculoskeletal system and the effects that these disorders have on your health.
Records dating back several thousand years in ancient Greek and Chinese civilisations refer to spinal adjustments. In more recent times chiropractic was founded over one hundred years ago in 1895 by a Canadian called DD Palmer. He performed the first chiropractic adjustment and went on to found the first chiropractic college in 1897 (Haldeman:2005).
There has been huge growth and development of chiropractic worldwide since then and is the third largest primary health care profession.
In the UK chiropractic is accredited by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).
